Nutella muffins with marble effect
Hello everyone,
Since yesterday was muffins day between me and my daughter, I wanted to make muffins, with a little Nutella inside, but my daughter asked me to give it a marble effect, so here are the Nutella muffins with a marble effect and also I tested the cake factory machine!
But before I give you the recipe, and tell you about my first test with the cake factory machine, I wanted to tell you that this article is not a sponsored article. I bought the cake factory second hand on gumtree, and this recipe is my first use of this device.
I’ve had a problem with an electric oven for a while, and I’m finally going to install a built-in oven at home. These devices have been lying around in my living room for a while, and I’m waiting for the installer to come and put them in place for more than 2 months… grrrr. That’s why I took out the device that I bought a while ago, though I have never tried it before.
I chose the chocolate chip muffin recipe from the book that came with the device. The recipe contained 110 g of sugar, but because I was going to add Nutella, and that I was going to mix with the dough to have a marbled effect , I didn’t want to find myself with too sweet muffins, so I lowered the sugar down to 90 g.
I tested the recipe twice, admittedly, the texture of the muffins is perfect, but for the first try, I had filled the 6 cavities of the muffin mold, and some muffins were too small, I didn’t get the bump of the top of my muffins, because I added nutella at the top of the dough and tried to make the marble effect. Suddenly, I realised I mixed the dough too much, something that you must avoid with muffins, but I didn’t have a large marble effect inside the muffins, the Nutella remained above the muffins, and I felt that the dough was a little less sweet.
For the second test, I added 95 g of sugar instead of 90 g, I did not follow the method described in the book where you had to mix sugar, butter, and egg, introduce the flour and baking powder and then dilute everything with milk. I started by whipping the sugar and the butter by hand, I introduced the egg, milk, flour and yeast by making just two or three movements.
Instead of filling the 6 cavities of the mold, I filled 5, with a little dough and a teaspoon of Nutella. I tried to give it a marble effect with a stick, then added a little dough on top of that, I left a small amount of dough that I put in the 6th cavity. But just in case I note that when I make the recipe from the book with chocolate chips, I will only fill 5 cavities to have perfect muffins.
In conclusion, the book’s recipe is meant for 5 muffins instead of 6.
I was a little anxious about placing the mold directly with the dough in the cold appliance, so I turned on the appliance with the same baking program (individual cakes), and when the dough was ready, I put it in the appliance, then I programmed exactly the same cooking mentioned in the book, for 30 minutes.
If you are baking in the oven, I recommend that you place the cakes in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature to 175 ° C and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes.
What I can tell you about this test is that I am very satisfied with the baking result, if I compare the cake factory to my oven, and if you are used to my blog, you should know that my oven is very finicky, and that I have always found it difficult to bake in it, especially the cakes, I always found that the top of the cake is a little wet, I prefer it with a nice crust on the top. What is not the case with this device? I had perfect baking, a nice thin crust, and a texture of perfect muffins.
